Who is Matt Brown?
Matt Brown is a 36-year-old American reality star. He is the eldest son of Ami and Billy Bush, the forerunners of the show, Alaskan Bush People. Matt was born on the 7th of September 1983, back in Texas.
The family started their life in Alaska when Matt was only three at the time, moving from Texas. Matt and his family would get their big break back in 2014, on the 6th of May to be specific. This came after producers over at the Discovery Channel decided to give the family their show.
So far, the series has run for ten seasons, boasting about a hundred episodes in the process.
What happened to Oldest Son Matt Brown from Alaskan Bush People?
Back in 2014, news broke that Matt Brown had been taken into custody for driving under the influence. It would then come to light that Matt had been dealing with alcoholism and substance abuse for a long time. He spent most nights out with friends indulging in drink and letting things get out of hand on occasion.
Matt would leave the show in its fourth season to go to rehab. This was back in 2016. He had to take a break from the show in order to cater to his well-being. His family was very supportive, even though Matt had been reluctant to tell them at first out of fear.
Unfortunately, Matt Brown’s first stint in rehab did not go well, which prompted him to seek out another facility in 2018. A year later, Matt’s father decided to give him a chance to feature in the 11th season of the show. Part of the agreement was that he would have to maintain his sobriety. Failure to do so would result in them removing him from the show again.
